Looking for an appropriate visual style

P11 drawing pixelated , the original is the text p11 written erasing over an area with the colors of the Speccy in slashes

The process in which I am embarked is fun. I’m looking for a consistent visual style for this project, by using free-hand drawn images and then pixelate, to show the individual pixels, in a way that reminds us the old times.

Complex decision and an interesting search to be able to apply that style in a standarized and fast way to any image.

What do you think? do you like the idea of pixel images? (obviously a much higher resolution than the image that I replied in this podcast.)

Failures illustrating retro games

Mi first, and awkward try to draw inspired in Ghosts and Goblins

As man lives not only of success, I will also share my failures. These days I am exploring to make drawings inspired by the world of our beloved Spectrum.

I’m searching a style guideline, that helps me to start the project and, from there, evolve. Of course practica makes perfect but every proyect has it’s own – and usually hidden – notorious disasters, like the image shown.

It’s an exploratory attempt trying to illustrate Ghosts and Goblins. Obviously I have to work hard in this direction before being able to illustrate with guarantees, but takes effort to master it xD.
